Style Icon: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn, baroness and 1950s and 1960s star actress of Breakfast At Tiffany's, Funny Face, A Roman Holiday, and many other titles, is well known for her great style. People admire her down to earth beauty, elegant features, and impeccable sleek, classic style. Her big break was in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. Her signature look is a black slimming dress, black sheer tights, black pumps, and big shades. We all love her simple but exceedingly elegant look. On top of all that, when she was older, she was a model citizen. She went on trips to Africa to help UNICEF stop poverty. UNICEF actually saved her life when she was fourteen. She was 5'7", 95 pounds, bruised, and starving to death. Not fit for a baroness, right? I personally think she was beautiful and always looked polished, neat, classy, and glamorous, all at once. I always wonder how she did it! What do you all think of her? Comment!!

Fashion Show Review: Lanvin

Lanvin has a reputation for being a chic, classic brand. You frequently see neutral tones on its models, but with just the right touch of sparkle. This fall, Lanvin presented one of the most intricate and creative takes on the neutral trend. We've seen gold, leather, fur, feathers, and fringe playing up otherwise plain suits and blazers. Lanvin also brought in sculptured jackets, dresses, and skirts this season, while keeping everything simple with browns, greys, tans, blues, and blacks. Alber Elbaz has added another WONDERFUL collection to his reputation!

My favorite item: American Eagle Worn Midnight Jeans

These dark skinnies are AMAZING. They have a 4.5 star rating and are American Eagle's bestseller. My sister and I both have a pair, and we both love them! Although she is a 2 and I'm a 00, the jeans work on anyone, not just thin girls, say customers.
These jeans fit super well, and the color is a beautiful dark blue. It instantly slims and improves your self confidence! As for comfort, they could almost be jeggings, which is saying a lot. (For those of you out there who don't know this, jeggings are constantly criticized, but they feel GREAT.)
I hope you all go out and buy these jeans right now, and take advantage of American Eagle's denim sale.

How to wear the fall trends on a budget

Most of us have budgets. And all of us love saving the extra dollar if we can. But we don't want to compromise the quality of our clothing.
What we all need are some cheap, trendy, good quality pieces that we love!
So here are some of these "it" items inspired by the fall trends!

This is a collection of military jackets and a skirt.

These links include leather jackets, a leather belt, and liquid (faux leather) tops and leggings.

Another trend, mostly for the teen world, is jeggings. I own two pairs, and I love them! Many people say they're dumb and pointless, but those are the people who have never tried them. They are just like skinny jeans, except they are so comfy it feels like you have another layer of skin on you. Here are some good ones.

The Metallic Movement:
These are gold dresses, blazers, skirts, and shoes.

I apologize for all the links. I know it looks crazy, and especially blunt without pictures, and I'm sorry.

The new subject of my dreams: The Mulberry Alexa Bag.

The Mulberry Alexa bag is a bohemian-chic take on the classic, plain, Celine bags. It has been seen on celebrities, citizens, and runways alike! This Mulberry bag is now the new classic. Chanel is too ordinary for the fashionistas who wear this! Though pricey, it is gorgeous! I am in love with it. I've been scouting Ebay in hopes of finding a cheaper one. I have seen quite a few, because the popularity of this leather item is rising constantly. Ebay is no longer only for Louis Vuitton and Chanel bags!
Here are some of my finds for anyone out there who wants one:

I love this bag!!

Fall 2010: The Latest, Greatest Fashion Trends.

This is the height of the fall fashion shows, when people start to fall into the trends and shop. This fall is a runway season of mixing the past with the future.. We have seen looks from the 60's,70's, and a little bit of the 90's coming back, along with modernized trends such as military, leather, and metallic.
The 60's were seen in the Louis Vuitton, Prada, L'Wren Scott, and Dries Van Noten runway shows with full skirts and pastel colors. Ferragamo, Chloe, and Tahari represented the 70's boho chic with neutral colors, fur, and just the right touch of sparkle.
The military trend is a favorite of many people, mixing clean cuts with just a little sparkle and leather. Though the 2008 and 2009 fall military looks were inspired by 18th and 19th century military, the trend has revived this year with a more modern take on the classic dignified clothing. Military jackets have been spotted EVERYWHERE, even in mainstream stores like American Eagle and Old Navy. Everyone loves them!
The leather trend is adding edge to clothing worldwide. Fashion isn't so pretty, sparkly and ruffly anymore. The grunge movement has captured runways everywhere, and women love to be seen a little bit tougher. But leather clothing doesn't always mean rock star stud filled looks. Many designers are turning leather classic, such as the Celine plain leather t-shirt. This has great crowd appeal, as many people do not want to feel intimidating and rough, which many people associate with leather. It's a whole new level of classic winter fashion.
Another modern trend we have seen is the metallic movement. Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Balmain, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Benhaz Sarafpour are just some examples. Gold blazers, dresses, and pants are all over the catwalk, along with intricate embellishments on otherwise plain, classic LBDs. Women are reminded that even in this economy, not all of your gold is gone!!

Other trends besides these past and future inspired looks have been spotted on the runways. This includes neutral tones, knee high footwear, and the strange trend of wearing lingerie as outerwear.

Neutral colors, colors you can wear with anything, are a necessity! They add just the right balance between extremes, as seen in the Burberry, Bottega Venetta, Chloe, Sonya Rykiel, and Giambattista Vali fall fashion shows, along with many, many more. I am a firm believer of mixing neutrals with bright colors equally, then adding just the right accessories. I have been criticized many times for my love of neutrals, but I stand strong in my opinion that neutrals are a necessity, and I'm sure Marc Jacobs could justify that for me!

Knee high footwear is definitely a trend people are loving! The runways everywhere this season were filled with knee high boots, long socks, long socks over tights, knee high boots over long socks over tights...
This look can be outrageous or very subtle. That's probably the reason why designers are putting it everywhere! They know it's something easily accomplished and inspiring for many other looks. Some designers, among many others, who have caught on to these preppy must haves are Cynthia Steffe, Michael Kors, Rag & Bone, Hussein Chalayan, Celine, and the ever-classic Chanel. If anyone needs proof that this is truly an accepted and coveted trend, just look at Georgia May Jagger, Ashley Smith. and Cintia Dicker, who all wore knee high socks in magazine photo shoots. We're all loving this trend!

The last trend I will write about, lingerie as outerwear, is a little different than the others. Firstly, this is a very strange trend. A way of showing more skin or just a creative take on classics? Possibly both. Second, it hasn't been on the runways, but merely spotted on the street and worn by celebrities. I'm hoping it won't catch on too much, or the whole of New York will catch a cold! Let's hope that doesn't happen.
The celebrities who have been digging this trend include Rihanna, Kaya Scodelario, Ashley Smith, and Patricia Van Der Vliet. While they must love their look, I'm not the biggest fan. I hope it is short lived and doesn't become too ridiculous.
Come fall, make sure you wash your hands very well!

I hope you liked this post! Please leave comments and follow! If pictures are requested of these trends, I will post some.

My Fashion Photo Shoot

For starters on this blog, I'm posting some real pictures of me in a little photo shoot I did. I'm posting my favorite few pictures. The style is kind of 1950's housewife gone glam. I chose this look because of the latest fall fashion trends- clothing inspired by the 50's and 60's, which appeared in fashion shows such as Louis Vuitton.
I know that with all these pictures, this post will look strange. But tell me what you think of these!
And what's your opinion on the latest trends?

-Neutral Tones
-Natural Makeup
-Strong Shoulders
I also did a mini fashion shoot on the military style, but I'm more proud of the one I posted.
Please tell me what you think!
